Frederick Irwin Anglican School Year 12 Students:
Learn to Dance for your Year 12 Ball

FUNDRAISING EVENT!!

Over the last three years, past Frederick Irwin student Charles Jenkinson and his assistant, Madeleine O'Keefe have instructed run their famous Latin and Ballroom Dancing course.  By popular demand, we are conducting classes again!

More importantly, Gordon Education has decided to donate ALL proceeds from these dancing classes to the costs of decoration at the 2007 Frederick Irwin Anglican School 2007 Year 12 Ball.  So not only will you be learning how to dance, you will also be helping make the 2007 Frederick Irwin Ball the greatest event in the history of the school.

The course will be held at the Mandurah Swimming Club clubrooms, just off Pinjarra Road, Mandurah, on the following nights:

Saturday 7 July 2007 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday 14 July 2007 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday 21 July 2007 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Sunday 22 July 2007 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

There will be approximately two hours of dance instruction, followed by a social dance until 9:00 pm.

The focus of the sessions will be on having as much fun with dancing as possible.  The music will all be modern, with a special emphasis on music likely to be heard at the ball.  We will be teaching the most enjoyable dances, such as Cha Cha, Jive, Merengue, Rumba, and Slow Rhythm.

Did you know that Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud," Blink 182's "All the Small Things," Pussy Cat Dolls' "Don't Cha," Jessica Simpson's "Take My Breath Away," and any slow song can all be danced to the above songs?  These are just some examples of how useful Latin American and Ballroom dancing can be for balls.

After each session, we will hold a Social Dance to let you practise your moves and have some fun.  There will be cool drinks for sale, and some light snacks provided.

THE MUSIC WE PLAY IS MODERN.

You do not need a partner to attend these sessions, however it is highly desirable.  People usually bring the person they will be taking to the school ball, yet most people end up dancing with a variety of others as well.

If you can't attend all sessions, that's no trouble!  Come along to the ones you are able to make.

The cost is $10.00 per person per night, payable at the beginning of each evening.

Please call (08) 9284 0666, complete the form below, or email enquiries@gordoneducation.com.au for more information.  Bookings are essential for gender balance, and the limited number of places are expected to fill fast.

PLEASE NOTE:  This form is currently experiencing problems.  It is still vital that you enroll, so please email us at the address above, or call our office.

We need to provide you with information about where the classes are to be held, what to bring, etc.  It is VITAL that you enroll for these classes.

We also are providing a bar facility, so we must know numbers for purchasing stock.  It is a FUNDRAISER, so we cannot waste money on drinks that are not going to be consumed.  Furthermore, we do our best to try and keep a gender balance.

The major point is, PLEASE TELL US YOU'RE COMING!

I look forward to seeing you there.

Many thanks,
Charles Jenkinson
